Subspace Static - 208.32 Atrocity? Disturbing rumours are reaching the IGN news-room of some sort of mass-slaughter of unarmed Flagritz civilians. It is said that the civilians were engaged in a largely peaceful protest when an orbital bombardment was called in on them by person or persons as yet unknown. More news as we get it. Flare Up In Twinkle News agencies at highstar have been carrying the following story: “Highstar defence command extends its gratitude to the crew of FLZ SHIP HK FREE FLZ (29009) for bravely sacrificing themselves in order to provide a light show for the inhabitants of Sapphire. When we assumed governance of Twinkle the Tyrant in his generosity permitted the FLZ to continue to utilise the Stargate as long as they honoured the peace of the system, did not land any positions on planetary surfaces and avoided the orbit of Sapphire. They have violated this agreement and it would be reasonable to remove their transit privileges as a response. But the Tyrant is his wisdom has to consider the high possibility that this suicidal and pointless violation of Sapphire orbit was due incompetence or inexperience rather than malice and has not decreed such a ban....yet. Limitations may follow if it proves the FLZ are simply incapable of abiding by reasonable restrictions. .. If the FLZ have any comment which may effect his deliberations they are welcome to put them forward.

Subspace Static - 208.30 Inter Galactic News RIP Guilt Special GTT Attack FLZ News agencies are reporting that the GTT have launched a series of attacks against FLZ positions. The GTT have issued the following official statement: ”Our trade ships reported to us the use of slaves at a FLZ Starbase in the New Sussex system. Once it was confirmed a GTT fleet was send with ground forces to free the slaves from the life of forced labour. The First two days saw the Space square A 6 and a fleet in D10 hit and a few outposts taken as well as the planet orbit cleared of ships and a platform. It was at this point when the main ground forces were about to be sent in the CNF asked us to hold back while they find a peaceful way to deal with the slave issue. What we have found out so far from the Slaves that have been found is that they are former employees that were turned on by the FLZ a while ago. The mission was code-named Lincoln.” According to observers, the FLZ lost two platforms and seven gunboats as GTT warships attacked, and possibly two Baseships that were docked at the outpost when it fell to the GTT marines. IGN reporters have been able to interview the freed slaves from Outpost HK-MO-Arundel, encouraging them to speak out about what happened to them. At first they claimed to be legitimate employees of the Flagritz Empire until recently when they were turned on and forced into slave labour. They had been there just a few weeks before the GTT arrived and rescued them. The Detinus Republic Foreign Minister Cassius Jerusalem was the first of several Periphery ministers to warmly congratulate the GTT for their brave operation, and successful rescue of the slaves from Flagritz tentacles. Greater questions have now been asked about the use of slaves throughout the Flagritz Republic as a whole. The RIP however have been suspiciously quiet on the whole issue, leading to much speculation that they are in favour of slavery.

Subspace Static - 208.28 Architects There has been an alarming sighting in the Solo system this week when a vessel belonging to the mysterious and ancient race, the Architects, swooped out of the darkness in the outer rings of the system and annihilated an AFT vessel with no warning given. The ARC ship Foundation, estimated at being equivalent to 400 heavy hulls in size, then vanished again, leaving behind the gutted remnants of the AFT vessel. The entire incident happened too quickly for other AFT assets at the location to even respond. Our news-room has heard rumours that there may be a second ARC vessel present in the Solo system, going by the name of ARC Motivation. What the presence of the ARC vessels indicates is anybodies guess, but it surely cannot bode well for the inhabitants of the Peripheries. Our sources also indicate that the ARC vessels may be moving in-system, towards the inhabited worlds…

Subspace Static - 208.27 Battle Conflict between the Consortium and the Flagritz flared up these past weeks, with a series of battles occurring in the Battlefield system when a major FLZ incursion consisting primarily of the personal guard of Lord Goth attempted to strike at various Consortium targets. The Flagritz fleet is understood to have run smack into an SMS squadron before it reached the wormhole or any of the planet orbits. The SMS squadron was larger but consisted primarily of heavy cruisers which were heavily outmatched by the superior FLZ vessels that consisted of Imperatritsa Mariya Class Capital Ships supported by Pike and Falchion heavy cruisers. Several ex-GTT Warspite Gothic class Capital ships were also spotted. This initial clash resulted in the loss of three SMS Broadsword class heavy cruisers, and things could have been much worse if a squadron of Felini designed Sabre Tooth Snarl Class Capital ships had not been attached to the SMS squadron.

Subspace Static - 208.25 Pirate Large FET patrol forces and the Security Director Mike Storm detected a major pirate base this week. The PIR Treasure Chest, located on a hidden asteroid in the Erasure system, was quickly identified as the major operating base of Pirate Large. Upon entering orbit the FET strike fleet engaged and destroyed several pirate vessels:

Subspace Static - 208.24 Wolfpack In a curious development one of our roving Inter-Galactic News reporters is now embedded with the Wolfpack mercenary company, and can provide first-hand reports of their encounters. His first report details an encounter between an AFT patrol and the Wolfpack at an as yet undisclosed location. (Our reporter has not yet negotiated full and unfettered access to the Wolfpack command deck of the vessel he is onboard.) 22 Wolfpack warships engaged a heavy patrol of 16 AFT warships. The combat looks to have gone strongly in favour of the mercenaries with only one Wolfpack ship being lost, a 75 heavy hull broadsword. AFT losses stand at four 100 heavy hull ships, two 100 normal hull ships and a 50 normal hull support ship. With the high production costs of heavy hulls this looks to be quite a step backwards for the AFT fleet. The single Wolfpack ship destroyed was the one responsible for the AFT outpost attack in Lewis two weeks ago, a broadsword configured for orbital bombardments. The Wolfpack are understood to have quickly departed from the scene of the battle with no further casualties on either side.

Subspace Static - 208.23 Rockall A major pirate assault was launched this week against the SMS Starbase Rockall in the Inferno system. At first light of dawn 12,500 trained pirate troops, including nearly 8000 elite startroopers, stormed towards the Rockall defences under the Pirate Kaswolf banner. They were supported by upwards of 3500 light tanks, and 1 slightly confused looking Kastorian crewmember. Stunned SMS defenders rallied quickly, manning their defensive gun emplacements, and inflicted a humiliating defeat upon the attacking pirates. Initial reports indicate that before the pirates had even closed with the Starbase, withering defensive fire tore their assault formations apart, inflicting horrifying casualties. With the thought of what had recently happened in Pompeii clearly in their minds, the SMS troops continued firing long after the attacking pirates had been exterminated to a man.

Subspace Static - 208.22 Wolfpack More hurt for the AFT this week as a single Wolfpack barrage ship did heavy damage to one of their mining facilities. The AFT outpost Sarillian, located in the Aladdin system, escaped destruction when the pirate vessel withdrew. Several other outposts and bases on the planet observed the attack, but were unable to open fire as the pirates launched their railgun barrage from over the horizon.

Subspace Static - 208.21 Pompeii A number of small SMS ground parties have been destroyed by pirate Pompeii when the outpost they were forming up in came under artillery attack. With the Starbase still in Pirate hands, questions are starting to be asked regarding just how much longer this large pirate Starbase will remain in Imperial space. War of Words A fresh war of words has erupted between the FLZ and FEL, with a number of hints being dropped as to a potential Felini intent to invade the Twilight peninsula. A plan that with all the scouting recently, surely comes as no surprise to the FLZ.

Subspace Static - 208.19 Inter Galactic News AFT Under Attack The neutral Association Of Free Traders has come under heavy attack by the Wolfpack mercenary forces operating in conjunction with an unknown number of pirate associates. Eight AFT ships have been reported destroyed with no loss amongst the attackers:
