Introduction to Kastorian Laws
As a new player you have been given a small courier ship in the star system
known as Yank. The Kastorian Military Junta controls this region of space.
The kastorians are a race of stocky but muscular humanoids with little sense
of humour and even less tolerance for lawbreakers.
Kastorian Laws
Neutral parties may trade and explore any celestial body in the Yank system
other and the moon Hydraulic. Neutral parties may colonise and exploit resources
except where specifically prohibited.
'Neutral parties' encompasses all affiliations other than supporters of the
kastorian faction in the system Kastor (KST) and pirates.
All positions owned by the Kastorian Military Junta will defend neutral parties.
In the case of one neutral party attacking another neutral party, the Junta
position will side with the party being attacked.
The Junta will not actively seek reparations from the attacker but will support
the aggrieved party should the attacker refuse to pay reparations. This support
will take the form of posting the aggressor, the entire affiliation and at
the most extreme, the active destruction of new recruits (i.e. no new players).
Should neither side push for reparations; the Junta will not take action should
the two parties wish to carry on the dispute in a militaristic manner providing
that no other neutral parties, including kastorian assets are affected.
Skord
Skord was ceded to the Kastorian Military Junta by emperor Jasil. As such
it is subject to the same laws as Yank.
Kastorian History
The kastorian race evolved on the moon kastor orbiting KST 1. This is located
in the adjacent system by the same name. Around 500 years ago there was a
civil war that led to the splintering of the kastorian race and the near total
destruction of their home world. Those that fled the world migrated to Yank
and founded a semi-militaristic society ruled by the Kastorian Military Junta.
Those that remained sought cryogenic sleep while the background radiation
levels decreased and the surface became habitable.
Around thirty years ago the cryogenic sleep terminated and the survivors started
to rebuild Kastor. As only a couple of generations have passed for them, they
still loathe and despise the Yank faction with a passion and will seek a way
to destroy them if they can. Luckily for the Yank faction they have had 500
years to prepare and do not take the threat of the KST seriously. They do
however consider them a viable target and do not count them as neutral parties.
As such they can be attacked without fear of repercussions from the Junta.
